Koon (dok koon)

The National Flower of Thailand is Cassia fistula (golden shower tree) known locally as the Ratchaphruek or “Dok Koon”.

The name Ratchaphruek means royal tree. The flower’s vibrant yellow hue is associated with the much-loved and respected late King Rama IV.

Dok Koon’s yellow color is also seen as the color of glory, harmony and unity.
